When We Are Giant

In this first development of a broader series of works by Cooper & Gorfer, the artists test the boundaries between painting, collage and photography assembling physically collaged colossal female bodies in different states of transformation. Exploding three-dimensionally from the frames that contain them, the figures become goddesses of monumental proportions. 

Breaking out from preconceived notions of femininity, the work is a bold declaration of the right of the female body to occupy space, both literally and figuratively. Loving, mystical and avenging, the giants of Cooper & Gorfer are a testimony of vulnerability and a force to be reckoned with.
