I Know Not These My Hands
Stockholm, Sweden
March 11th – June 11th 2017

In the spring of 2011, we travelled through northwest Argentina to create a new body of work, entitled I Know Not These My Hands. Then, other projects happened. Then, life happened. And as we changed, the world around us changed. Today we are faced with a new political climate, new wars, and the resulting challenges. The stories and the people we met during our travel back in 2011, have been with us these past years, tagging along, sometimes close to heart, sometimes at a distance. However, the themes we have encountered then, have lost nothing of their relevance today. Although the project once started in Argentina, it now spans different cultures, countries and continents, reflecting on cultural identity, migration, de-colonialization and political turmoil.

The exhibition at Fotografiska shows an extensive selection of works from I Know Not These My Hands (2017), together with works from the following series: Interruptions (2016), The Weather Diaries (2014), My Quiet of Gold (2011) and Latent Now (2009).
